Job Description
The Sales Training Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall performance. This role aims to ensure that the sales force is well-equipped to meet and exceed their targets while aligning with the company's goals and strategies. A Sales Training Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the sales team is well-prepared and continuously improving, ultimately contributing to the company's sales growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and customize sales training programs based on the company's products, services, and target market. Develop training materials, modules, and resources to support the training process.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new sales team members, including orientation, product knowledge training, and sales techniques.
- Identify areas for skill development within the sales team and implement training initiatives to improve performance in areas such as objection handling, closing techniques, and negotiation skills.
- Ensure that the sales team has a deep understanding of the company's products or services and can effectively communicate their value to customers.
- Train the sales team on the company's sales processes, CRM systems, and tools to maximize efficiency and consistency.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of sales team members to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to help them succeed.
- Organize and facilitate training workshops, seminars, and role-playing exercises to enhance the practical skills of sales representatives.
- Analyze sales metrics and performance data to make data-driven decisions about training priorities and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that the sales team complies with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards. Provide training on relevant laws and regulations.
- Keep the sales team updated on the latest sales and marketing technologies and tools, including customer relationship management (CRM) software and sales analytics platforms.
- Work closely with the sales leadership team to understand their goals and strategies, and align training programs accordingly.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in sales and training. Continuously improve the training programs to meet changing needs.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, education, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated proven experience in sales training and curriculum development ideally in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of sales processes and techniques. Prior sales experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical skills to assess training program effectiveness.
- Ability to motivate and coach sales team members.
- Working knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning platforms is a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

The salary range for this position is $107,600-145,600. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations. This position is also eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance.The actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. In addition to the compensation listed, this position is eligible for equity compensation.
