We’re Trouva, the marketplace for independent curators and Europe’s top e-commerce startup (we’ve got the trophy to prove it). We are anti-chain and anti-same; we stand against the uniform and the ubiquitous. We exist to inspire, and we champion independence. Our vision? A thriving global community of curators united by their passion for unique products.

We are backed by some incredible VC backers whose successes include Dropbox, ASOS, Secret Escapes & Facebook (Octopus Ventures, Index Ventures, BGF & LocalGlobe), and Angel investors including current/former Directors of Farfetch, JustEat, Net-a-Porter, Google & Deliveroo.

We are proud to be a tech start-up building the offline to online platform for independent curation, handling inventory management, merchandising, AI-led recommendations, and logistics, to offer an even better service than the online giants.

We've recently been named the top UK startup in the Startups 100 list and are on the hunt to find exceptional talent who share our vision and can help us achieve our next level of growth. Curious to know about what it's like to work here? Check out our Careers page

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, the HR coordinator plays a key role in helping Trouva build and strong and inclusive team. People & Culture are an agile team and the role’s priorities will flex based on business requirements, but at its core, you will help nurture and shape a strong culture by living our values in your behaviour and interactions, whilst ensuring that our people policies and activities provide the right level of support to our team and are delivered to an exceptional standard.

Requirements

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Running our branding and recruitment to bring top-performing talent to the business. This will include working with our managers to input on and coordinate hiring processes, sourcing, and interviews;
  • Lead on our onboarding and offboarding, working closely with our Office and Wellbeing manager to provide an exceptional experience to the team;
  • Providing team support and day-to-day management of our people data, policies, and processes in both Portugal and the UK. This will also include providing input and support to the Head of People on employee relations matters;
  • Work closely with our Finance and Legal team. You’ll own the Portuguese staff welfare budget and will contribute to our People budgeting, payroll, insurance and compliance processes, as well as the Finance team’s activities for Portugal;
  • Be a key contributor to Trouva’s culture. You’ll work with our Office and Wellbeing Manager to deliver those all-important ‘cultural moments’. This includes our perks, socials, team comms, and general BAU support;
  • Proactively suggest ideas and opportunities that will make P&C and our managers more efficient. This could include projects related to recruitment, development, and team engagement;
  • Be a cultural ambassador for Trouva promoting our values through your behaviour and interactions with the team.

Who you are:

  • We’re a hybrid business and offer fully flexible remote working policies. However, we do expect that the person we hire will be available to attend and support a small office space as required;
  • Previous experience working in a People Ops role in Portugal. It’s important that whoever joins our team has a good understanding of the Portuguese market; its contracts, labour laws and employment processes;
  • Strong communication skills; you’re proficient in both English and Portuguese and are comfortable working and communicating effectively in a remote environment;
  • Exceptional people skills: strong listening abilities, empathy, and a genuine curiosity to learn more about the people you are interacting with;
  • Someone that is known for working smart and getting things done;
  • Be a keen learner, taking the time to upskill yourself on P&C topics that impact our team;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Creative and proactive - Cares deeply about our team and acting in their best interests. You’re able to offer new ideas and suggest ways that the People & Culture team can constantly improve;
  • Comfortable working with People tech platforms such as Slack, Hibob, Workable, Greenhouse etc. You understand the value these systems can bring and offer input into how we can better utilise our systems;
  • Experience in a tech startup is not required but a plus!
