Description

WhiteHat is a tech start-up on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships. Having recently raised a $16m Series A venture round led by Index Ventures, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, we are on a rapid growth trajectory and have doubled the team to over 100 people in the past year. We are a people business inside and out and are looking for a VP People to lead the growth of our business whilst maintaining our incredible culture.

When people walk into the WhiteHat office, they always comment on the energy and buzz they feel in the air. This is what you get when you combine passion and excellence; people love what they do and they feel energised by the challenge and empowered to have impact. Our people team creates this vibe by focusing on ‘hiring excellent people and keeping them excellent’.

What we are looking for:

The right candidate for the VP People needs to be a culture carrier and completely aligned with all our company values. We talk about our values every day and our people team needs to be the champions of our culture and values. You will be someone who leads by example and is comfortable calling out behaviours that aren’t aligned with our values, in the spirit of being honest but kind. As a member of the executive team, you will need to go beyond focusing on the internal company needs and people ops strategy, and act as a thought-leader in the HR/People space more broadly to talk about our mission amongst your peers.

You will be excited about keeping the hiring bar high so we’re bringing in people who embody our values, who display excellence in everything they do, and who bring a commitment and intensity to work every day. We are trying to change the system and we need people who have the desire to be changemakers and problem solvers, and who take ownership of delivering results and impact. You understand the importance of candidate experience in attracting the best candidates and the value of setting new employees up for success through clear alignment and expectations from day one.

You believe deeply in our mission of creating a diverse group of future leaders and think about how you can ensure WhiteHat lives that mission within our own team.
