What’s it all about?

We’re looking for a Third Party Requests Agent to join the brand new Third Party Requests Team – to handle and own responsibility for all requests received from third parties, as well as assisting Legal and Compliance with all non-criminal requests for information and account seizures!

Your Mission:

  • You will be the master of all third party requests – ensuring that we comply with orders and requests for information correctly and in a timely manner, under the supervision of the Legal Support Hub and the wider Legal Team;
  • You will handle various requests or orders from third parties, such as court orders, subpoenas, requests from tax offices and insolvency/bankruptcy trustees, as well as other bits and pieces that we receive;
  • You’ll help establish processes that allow our handling of third party requests to scale globally – so that whatever the format, wherever they are received, our office teams and law firms know where to send the requests so they can be dealt with properly;
  • You will support the Legal Team – ensuring that all legal threats and demands are handled promptly, as well as getting involved with handling some yourself!;
  • In time, you’ll work towards helping to establish (and possibly owning) additional functions within Wise as we scale. Our team is all about helping oversee customer accounts and minimising legal risk – so we need to be ready to grow and adapt as the needs of Wise and our customers expand;
  • You’ll be involved with planning and scaling the Third Party Requests Team as we grow – whilst you’ll have your own focus on the job at hand, you’ll also be encouraged to take part in the wider discussions about how we can best plan to support our customers and established third parties.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Play an important role in Wise’s growing non-fincrime compliance functions – ensuring that our entities are always compliant with orders from competent courts or other official institutions worldwide;
  • Own a valuable function in a growing, fast paced financial institution;
  • Learn about the world of legal requests – such as how to identify correct service of process, how to draft and review witness statements, and how to determine the times when we need a courts approval to provide relevant information, and when we do not;
  • Learning the basics of financial and consumer law – valuable skills if you’re interested in a career in legal, compliance or product in the future.

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent verbal and written English – another language is also an advantage (especially French and Dutch!);
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to adjust your approach depending on the needs of each individual task;
  • Ability to multi-task and take responsibility in challenging situations;
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to spot the needle-in-the-haystack that others might miss;
  • The confidence to make decisions independently – and the boldness to call out the right from the wrong, regardless of the audience.
  • The position needs to be filled in our Brussels office only – we aren’t necessarily planning on relocations for the position, but if you’re in another office and feel the job is perfect for you, get your application in and we can take this into consideration.

We’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. So if you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in.

Also, where and what you studied isn’t important to us. If you’ve got great experience, the right skills for the role and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.

And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.
