Job Description

Our DEI strategy focuses on driving progress and impact forwards on our 5 overarching goals:

  • increase the diversity of our Wiser population and Leads to reflect our global customer base
  • enhance the inclusivity of our products and services
  • evolve our DEI learning curriculum to increase DEI knowledge, actions and behavior in a high performance culture
  • ensure our processes and policies are fair and equitable particularly in decision making moments
  • improve our DEI data capture, analysis and reporting

Our DEI team sits in the People team and is globally distributed across our largest offices: London, Budapest and Tallinn. We hope to have our first Austin based team member join us in this role.


Qualifications

THE ROLE

The DEI Senior Specialist is responsible for managing DEI projects and initiatives across our Americas offices; US offices (Austin, Tampa, New York), Brazil and Mexico as well as managing some of our global DEI projects. They will be responsible for partnering with the People team, particularly our People Partners, People Operations, Recruitment, Risk and Employee Relations functions, as well as partnering with some of our business functional teams across Wise. For instance ensuring our people related policies and processes are inclusive and mitigate biases, and helping to evolve functional teams DEI goals, measuring and tracking progress effectively and driving forwards desired People related outcomes and business impact. They will have a particular focus on ensuring we are compliant and meeting regulatory and legal requirements across our US offices and developing local external partnerships.

SKILLS, BEHAVIORS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong experience in working in DEI teams in the US as a DEI subject matter expert, keeping up with key global DEI industry trends and best practices, with strong cultural competencies in being able to adapt to local contexts such as the Americas
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local DEI-related law and regulations, including but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, Affirmative Action Requirements, State and Local Regulations (e.g in Florida, New York and Texas)
  • Has coaching, mentoring and advisory experience and empowers others to drive DEI impact forward successfully
  • Very practiced in consulting Senior stakeholders on a variety of DEI topics, gaps and opportunities. Strong stakeholder management, engagement and influencing skills and experience in co-creation and has a collaborative and feedback-friendly approach
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with DEI subjects and situations of high sensitivity, increased complexity, with legal implications and risk-related nuances
  • Strong innovative, analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to affect change quickly and make an impact at scale. Strong change management and adaptability skills
  • Data-oriented with a strong ability to identity, analyze and report on DEI data measures, both qualitatively and quantitatively and make recommendations on practical interventions in collaboration with People Partners and Employee Relations
  • Brave and compassionate communicator, high on emotional intelligence and role models DEI competencies, values and behaviors at all times
  • Proactive in identifying and anticipating any blockers, challenges and opportunities. Solution focused and focused on continuous improvement with a strategic approach
  • Very organized and capable of managing multiple projects and a number of complexities at scale
  • High attention to detail and passion for high quality work
  • Experienced working in virtual international environments with hybrid teams across different time zones
  • Highly experienced in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the US, within a fast-paced, matrixed global organizations and regulatory environments
  • An up-to-date professional certification to demonstrate your expertise and commitment within the field of DEI would be nice to have, but not required
  • Able to travel globally as needed, at least three times per year
