Job Description
Team you will be joining: Fraud group
The Fraud team at Wise is dedicated to safeguarding our platform against financial crime and ensuring the protection of our legitimate customers. Leveraging cutting-edge machine learning, real-time transaction monitoring, and data analysis, our team is responsible for developing and enhancing fraud detection systems. Software engineers, data analysts, and data scientists collaborate on a daily basis to continuously improve our systems and provide support to our fraud investigation team.
Our main vision points are:
Build a globally scalable fraud prevention and detection engine to maintain Wise as a secure environment for our legitimate customers.
- Utilise machine learning techniques to identify potential risks associated with customer activity.
- Foster a strong partnership between our fraud investigators and the product team to develop solutions that leverage the expertise of fraud prevention specialists.
- Not only meet the requirements set by regulators and auditors but also surpass their expectations.
Is that you?
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in Java or other JVM-based languages.
- 2+ years of experience in architecting big data systems with proven ability to propose and implement technical solutions that balance latency and throughput, particularly for real-time systems under high transaction loads.
- Willingness to take broad ownership of squad responsibilities (building roadmaps, scoping) while mentoring teams on their technical and product roadmaps.
- Experience in up-levelling junior engineers and providing guidance to senior engineer via processes and setting a high bar for them to follow
- You are a proactive, effective communicator who is able to describe technical concepts to non-technical audiences and eager to learn new domains and have a strong bias towards action.
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving large-scale projects to successful completion across multiple engineering teams is a nice-to-have.
