Katy partners with founders and operators on Operations and G&A hiring strategy, and works to build and deepen Index's executive and advisor network across the US.
Katy has spent her career partnering with startup founders to build and scale their teams. Prior to Index, she spent five years leading talent at Gradient Ventures, an AI seed fund backed by Google, where she helped founders establish their early hiring processes and make critical leadership hires across their organizations. She also previously spent seven years in executive search, helping high-growth technology companies build their leadership teams.
Katy believes that building a great team starts with deeply understanding what a company needs at each stage and she brings an enduring curiosity about people and organizations to help founders make those decisions.
Katy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Anthropology and Education and currently lives in Oakland with her family. Outside of work she spends her time hiking in the Oakland hills, gardening, and exploring new cities and national parks.
