Michelle is the VP of US Legal at Index and has been with the team since 2020. She advises entrepreneurs and investors on legal matters arising during all stages of a company's lifecycle, along with assisting Index's investment team on the negotiation and execution of investments, divestments, and general corporate matters. Michelle also handles US regulatory and compliance matters.
Prior to Index, Michelle was a senior associate at Gunderson Dettmer in San Francisco, where she advised leading venture-backed private companies across stages and in various industries on financings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and general corporate governance matters, as well as advising venture capital firms on corporate transactions. Michelle began her legal career as an associate focused on mergers and acquisitions at Wilson Sonsini in New York and San Francisco.
Michelle is admitted to practice law in California and New York. She received a B.S. degree from Cornell University and her JD from Fordham University School of Law. Outside of work, Michelle is an avid foodie and enjoys biking, skiing and traveling.
