As Finance Director at Index, Sally brings over two decades of experience in accounting and alternative investment strategies - covering venture capital, private equity, asset management, property and private banking. In her current role, she oversees all aspects of Index’s global finances and HR across four locations and accounting jurisdictions - coordinating regulatory requirements, fund distributions and resource allocation. Sally discovered her accountancy acumen while wearing a white coat in a laboratory: as a trained chemist, she found its practical, logical, research and disciplinary approaches to be remarkably applicable to the core principles of finance. Among the companies she worked for in her prior senior finance leadership roles are ABN AMRO Asset Management, Mercury Asset Management, Meryll Lynch and Duke Street Capital. She is most inspired by watching and managing the investments of Index’s entrepreneurs grow beyond the experiment and innovation stage and mature into stable and profitable ventures around the world.
