Engineering

We’re hiring a Platform Engineer to help world-class financial institutions automate away their backoffice. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who loves building reliable, elegant backend systems that make complex business processes feel simple. You’ll work on the heart of our platform — APIs, data models, and integration layers — ensuring everything we ship is fast, secure, consistent, and easy to extend.

You’ll collaborate closely with our founder and product engineers to design scalable backend architecture, bring new services online, and integrate third-party systems securely and efficiently. You’ll have ownership over technical direction and see your work have a direct impact on the company’s success.

The ideal candidate is pragmatic, systems-minded, and takes pride in creating clean abstractions and resilient automation. You care deeply about developer velocity, observability, and security, and you’re not afraid to make tradeoffs to achieve real-world reliability. You move fast, think clearly, and bring both architectural depth and a builder’s mindset.

Eisen is based in New York City, and in-person collaboration is preferred.

About Eisen

Eisen is building the first account offboarding platform for financial institutions. We streamline manual processes like escheatment, disbursement, and customer outreach - helping banks and fintechs close the loop on inactive accounts and reunite people with their money.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Integrations & Platform

  • Own and operate the backend systems that integrate with 3rd-party providers (e.g. authentication, payments, document management)

  • Design robust integration frameworks that simplify and standardize how we connect to external systems

  • Evolve shared libraries, templates, and workflows to enforce standards and reduce friction

  • Partner with other engineering teams to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Use AI-powered tools to accelerate development and discover innovative solutions to complex technical challenges

  • Apply strong computer science fundamentals to design and operate systems that handle large-scale data efficiently

  • Delivering reliable solutions on time and with attention to detail

Scalable and Secure Infrastructure

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure that is secure, observable, and cost-efficient

  • Implement scalable CI/CD pipelines that accelerate safe deployments

  • Drive adoption of SaaS, IaC and best practices for environment management

  • Ensure systems are resilient through monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery

About You

  • 5+ years experience in a high performing engineering team, ideally in a 0 -> 1 environment

  • Experience with backend services and integration patterns (REST, webhooks, message queues) with typed languages

  • Fluent in using AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to brainstorm, prototype, and accelerate iteration

  • Interested in building production infrastructure in a modern cloud environment

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform or similar)

  • Curious, resourceful, and unafraid to ask “why” when things aren’t clear

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by solving problems that don’t have obvious answers

  • Collaborative, thoughtful communicator who makes people around you better

  • Bonus: Experience in fintech, data-heavy workflows, or workflow automation

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Unlimited PTO

  • OneMedical membership, commuter benefits, and more
