Every year, billions of clothing items are produced but never sold. Much of this unworn fashion ends up in landfills – a massive waste of creativity, craftsmanship, resources, and investment. We're here to change that. As a purpose-led company, we use technology to help fashion brands give every item a chance to be worn. And we’re proud to be a certified B Corp – recognised for meeting high standards of social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability.
How we work
We’re a purpose-driven scale-up, based in Amsterdam and active across Europe, with a diverse and international team. Our mission is simple: sell unsold inventory. Otrium values a healthy work-life balance. We have adopted a flexible hybrid way of working, encouraging our team members to come to our open, spacious, plant-filled Amsterdam HQ at the waterside of Houthavens at least twice a week. Full-time office presence is welcomed, and you’re empowered to organise your schedule in a way that works for you and the team.
Your impact
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join Otrium’s accounting and financial reporting team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the financial integrity and operational efficiency that underpins our growth.
4+ years of accounting knowledge, ideally honed in a fast-paced scale-up or tech environment.
You hold a recognised qualification (ACCA, CIMA, RA, or equivalent).
Strong technical knowledge of local taxation and accounting standards (Dutch GAAP).
Proficiency in NetSuite is highly preferred, alongside advanced Excel skills.
A proactive mindset with a focus on leveraging technology to drive process efficiency.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor interns and update stakeholders on financial positions.
Fluency in English is a must.
Own our daily SG&A financial operations and payment ecosystems, ensuring seamless transaction flows.
Deliver month-end and year-end close processes, including robust balance sheet reconciliations and accurate accruals management.
Optimise working capital and monitor aged balances to support healthy cash flow and strong vendor relationships.
Administer full-cycle payroll, collaborating closely with our People Team and third-party payroll providers.
Collaborate in audit preparation and the completion of all relevant statutory financial requirements.
Support tax compliance (VAT) by maintaining high-quality documentation and preparing workings for quarterly returns.
Coach and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on daily tasks and supporting their professional development.
Drive process improvements by leveraging AI and automation to scale our financial operations efficiently.
